A NEW FOCUS ON COMMUNICATIONS FOR TRUST
4th March 2008
Trust Housing Association is to increase its communications activity to tell
more people about the work it does.
It is to work with Scots PR firm Ross Wilson Public Relations which has
experience handling public relations for other housing associations.
In a joint statement both organisations said the move would undoubtedly
deliver greater exposure for Trust across the country.
Managing Consultant Ross Wilson, former Business Editor of the Daily Record,
said: "Every organisation has a story to tell and housing providers are no
different. But every penny spent on PR by a housing association has to
deliver good value are we look forward to significantly raising the profile
of this outstanding housing provider. With its considerable stock across the
country there are huge opportunities on PR for Trust within the Scottish
media."
Trust can trace its roots back to 1973 when the Kirk Care Housing
Association was formed to assist older people and others in housing need.
2004 saw a name change to Trust Housing Association as well as
organisational restructuring. Today it provides over 2400 homes throughout
Scotland and is a major employer with over 500 office and development based
staff working across the country.
A significant part of Trust is Isle of Arran Homes which was formed in 2000
as an initiative of the Association. The housing stock on Arran comprises of
the units transferred from North Ayrshire Council and the former Kirk Care
Housing Association stock totalling approximately 270 properties. A dynamic
new building operation has been under way for some time giving this most
popular of islands its first new homes in a generation.
Ross Wilson travelled to Brodick on Monday to meet Isle of Arran
Homes Manager Andrew Martin to identify PR opportunities there.
Kenny Nicholson, Corporate Services Director for Trust, said: "We recognise
that a large housing association like ourselves should be highlighting the
work we do and to make the most of PR opportunities. We look forward to a
productive and successful working relationship with Ross Wilson PR."
Ross Wilson PR also works for Glen Oaks and Cernach Housing Associations in
Glasgow.
